At Home Pampering Essentials

Missing going to the spa this year? I know I am...not that I go as often as I should but still! With all of us stuck at home for these prolonged periods of time, self care is important, even in the form of beauty treatments. I’ve spoken extensively about my favorite skincare treatments, makeup products and tools, but this article will cover those beauty items that aren’t necessarily things you may consider to be for beauty purposes...but will still make you feel as pampered as a day at the spa!

  • Shower Bomb - I now have an amazing jacuzzi in my bathroom, but for most of my 30+ years, I always only had a shower with no tub. While always wanting to be able to use bath bombs but unable to, a friend gifted me some shower bombs(which I never even knew existed before that!), and I fell in love! Now, not every shower bomb is used the same way. There are some that you place in the corner of your shower to release the vapory goodness, and then there are some that you run under the shower in your hands to create a lather similar to a bubble bath. I’ve tried both, and I love each of them for different reasons. The one for aromatherapy that I love is the Eucalyptus Shower Bomb by Basin. This bomb is great for allergy sufferers, and is also energizing and uplifting. The other favorite of mine is by Lush and is called Sleepy, which is a cute little cloud shaped shower bomb that expands under the shower’s stream for you to smooth on the luxurious lavender scented foam and get the ultimate shower experience.Eucalyptus Shower Bomb $4.99 is available at www.basin.com. Sleepy Dreamy Little Cloud Shower Bomb $3.95 is available at www.lushusa.com
  • A Decadent Candle - There’s just something so soothing about a great scented candle, and none are more pampering than the ones by NEST New York. My favorite is the Rose Noir & Oud Classic Candle, which has a deep and sultry aroma featuring Rose de Mai mixed with a smokey Oud, as well as hints of incense, leather and patchouli. With a premium wax formula that burns slowly and evenly, and disperses the scent in any room you light it in, this woody floral scent is seductive and captivating...and not a scent you will soon forget! Plus they have a diffuser in the same scent too! Rose Noir & Oud Classic Candle $42 is available at www.nestnewyork.com
  • Silky Eye Mask - While you may not have the silky king-sized sheet set of your dreams, there is no reason you still shouldn’t have the soothing sensation of silk against your face, as well as the protection a silk eye mask offers against fine lines and wrinkles! The Sleep Mask by Slip is a great luxury find. With pure silk filler and an internal liner, this mask is made with the highest grade 6A long fiber fine mulberry silk, and is free of toxic dyes. Plus you can wash this by hand, which means no frequent trips to the dry cleaner just for your eye mask! And it comes in over 10 different colors, which means there’s something for everyone! Sleep Mask $50 is available at www.slip.com
  • Room Spray - Sometimes you don’t want to have to worry about falling asleep after lighting a candle, but you still want your room to be soothing and smell nice. This is where a room spray is essential. One of my favorite colognes is by Jo Malone and it’s called English Pear and Freesia, which has a sensuous freshness of just-ripe pears mixed with a bouquet of white freesias, as well as amber, patchouli and woods. What I recently discovered is that it also comes in a room spray option! Much to my delight, it smells just as nice as the cologne I wear, and lingers for some time, unlike a lot of other room sprays that I have used in the past. At first, the hefty price tag deterred me, but the bottle lasts for a long time...and you only need a spritz or two to get a medium sized room smelling fragrant. English Pear & Freesia Scent Surround Room Spray $72 is available at www.jomalone.com
