Missing the usual glow that you tend to get this time of year? With so many of us continuing to be safe by social distancing and self-quarantining, we aren’t getting to spend the usual amount of time that we do outdoors or poolside...which means we’re not getting as much sun! This is where a self tanner becomes very useful! It doesn’t help that there are endless options for self tanners, and it’s hard to know which ones to try and which to avoid (so you don’t end up looking like an oversized Cheeto!). Being a brown gal, I HAVE to have a self tanner that gives me my natural brown glow, without any hints of orange. So here are my favorite self tanners that I use to give myself just that!
- Tan-Luxe - There’s a reason that this one is first. With a skincare-led approach, this brand is my favorite for many reasons. Fully customizable (depending on how many drops you choose to use) and mixable with any lotions or moisturizers, these drops are great for even the most sensitive skin. They don’t have that overpowering scent that a lot of self tanners tend to have, and they don’t transfer onto sheets or clothing. Streak-free, free of chemical dyes, parabens and sulfates, as well as mineral oil, this is a great option for those seeking a tan without the harm to your body that can come with it. The brand has so many different options in the line from separate bottles for the face and the body, as well as gradual tan lotion, tanning foam, SPF, serum, sleep oil, and even an anti-aging option! With so many choices, you’re sure to find one that suits you! Tan-Luxe is available at www.tan-luxe.com and options start at $23
- Isle Of Paradise - Available in 3 different options (drops, mousse, and water), these color corrective tanning products also offer tanning essentials in 3 shade ranges: Light, Medium, and Dark. They also have cool little add ons, like their mitt and a little balm stick to even out your tan on the go! Vegan and supercharged with superfoods, these self tanners will give you the glow you’ve been sorely missing this summer! Isle Of Paradise is available at www.theisleofparadise.com and options start at $22
- Dr. Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Glow Pad - I love this option because it’s like two steps in one, and I’ll explain why. Normally, before using any tanning product, I’ll slap on some Sexapeel by Sonia Roselli to exfoliate all the dead skin off my face and body. But with this product, I don’t really need to, since it’s an exfoliating AND tanning peel pad. Available in a gradual tan option and an intense one, they also offer what the brand calls a “Glotion” treatment. Quick drying and easy to take with you on the go, these pads come with 20 applications in each box. You still have to make sure that you wash your hands after use, but it beats lugging around a glass bottle everywhere! Another plus to these pads is that they also have anti-aging benefits with use in addition to a healthy glow...and who doesn’t love that? Alpha Beta Glow Pad #38 is available at www.drdennisgross.com
